The CD Project
In early 2010, The O’Donnell family - John, Wendy, Johnny, Jacqui and Katelyn - drove over to Brendan Radford’s Radmusic Studio to begin recording our debut album.
We knew Brendan only by reputation. We were keen to find a producer who understood the bluegrass genre and appreciate the natural, authentic sound we wanted to preserve.
With a track record of being three times Australian Bluegrass Flatpick Guitar Champion, Brendan was well credentialed in the bluegrass arena. He had just finished a 10 year tenure with Lee Kernaghan’s touring band and released his own award winning solo album.
While still in demand with his own solo career as well as supporting other artists, Brendan agreed to take on The O’Donnell CD project.
Ten months later, at the end of 2010, we were able to release the final product. The album includes a selection of original and classic bluegrass, gospel and country songs. The variety of tracks is typical of what we’d perform in a live concert.
In addition to Brendan’s exciting guitar work, he called on some of his friends to add their world class musicianship to the album. The final mix was done by Geoff McGahan with mastering completed by multiple Golden Guitar winner, Jeff McCormack.
We’re excited to be able to share our music with you and hope you enjoy the final product. Thanks for your support of our independent music project - we’d appreciate it if you can also spread the word to your friends.
